Is there a promise?
I see it! I see It!!!
Fleeting nature of promises…or eternal nature of promises?

I couldn’t be happier
Spring is breaking out everywhere and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had 75 of these northern hemisphere springs and I still bubble with joy as I watch the reveal. That, in and of itself, is reason enough for me to be happy.
Every day when I take a walk, something new awakens me, even calls me. Below I share my good fortune.
Snowdrops–spring enthralls me. Coming out of nothing. Nothing? Next to the snowdrops can you see last fall’s rotting apples nutrientizing the soil. And me, I saw these snowdrops as a clump of trees. Crazy? Or just drunk with pleasure?
Kaffir lilies–Winter telling me to get ready for spring. Also these kaffir lilies remind me that I, a Christian westerner, survived residing for two decades in Muslim countries. So what?
Hazelnut catkins–there is nothing I like better than hazelnuts enrobed in milk chocolate. And these catkins will make it happen.
Can’t wait for another walk tomorrow.
Showers–gentle showers.
And, they do bring…
It is all free.
Doesn’t cost anything–we just have to go outside to find it.
…when I’ve got this outside!
Spring sunshine!
Spring oxygen!
Spring growth!
Spring green!
Spring birdsong!
Spring fresh air!
Spring joy!
Spring flowers!
Can you find any of the above in the following images?
Or better yet…go out and find them yourself.
After the death of winter comes a rebirth of life, of beauty, of joy.
Where to find it?
Today I was lucky.
I discovered hope in a simple home made courtyard.
All of us are experiencing quarantine in one form or another.
But the edge of town? What is that? Traditionally the edge of town was the place where fertile flat lands were cultivated for agriculture that was more valuable than town housing. And necessary.
So, yesterday I took a walk–quarantine all around. Walked by myself. As I walked across town, I saw an open bakery, an open grocery store and an open drug store. Everything else was closed.
Quarantined? Take a walk. Check out the edge of town.
Yeah, I know it’s dangerous to call ‘Spring’ in mid-March, in the Northern Hemisphere in the mountains.
Or is it just having fun?
I had the joy of observing these two patches of flowers yesterday.
One is wild in the woods and the other is wild in the garden. Judging books by their covers, are we?
But someone has written that having a book in your pocket is like having a garden in your pocket. Then where do the wild flowers belong?
But anywhere you find them, they are a discovery pleasure of spring.
But then I didn’t have time and continued on my way.
…still wondering where that invitation would have led me…what did I miss?
Can’t go back.
Will I have another chance?
