Primula and primroses are cheerful flowers with so much promise, it feels to me. But spring is pretty much busting out all over here, may blossom on hawthorn, speedwell on verges, daffodils just going over, cowslips in profusion in the corner of a field, grassy banks covered in celandine, violets and daisies, and kingcups and irises along canal towpaths.
